Our authentic Venetian masks are handmade in the
tradition of mask-making founded in Venice in the
15th century. The artist uses paper mache, which is
pressed into molds, then coated with plaster. After
baking, the masks are trimmed, and then hand-painted
and decorated. Most mask designs have their origins
in the Commedia dell’Arte (Italian Comedy) of the
Renaissance and the 17th century.
